Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would one door-front oven cavity with three shared rack positions suit you better than a pull-out basket?
RJ38-RDO-13P has one oven cavity and three rack levels under one selected control program. The racks are not separate cooking zones.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need a named Broil mode, or a different specialist function such as Proof?
The current exact-code guide names Broil; it does not name Proof.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a 90°F lower endpoint useful for a documented Dehydrate operation?
Dry (Dehydrate) adjusts from 90°F to 200°F. Air Fry and Bake start at 200°F, so the low value belongs to one mode only.
Explore this need in the finder →Would you use the included rotating spit for Air Fry or Bake, and do you need it to rotate during Broil?
The included spit rotates with Air Fry or Bake, up to four pounds. Rotation is unavailable in Broil, Reheat and Dry.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the current 14-quart nominal label meet your minimum?
Chefman’s current U.S. exact page and matching May 2026 guide call this model 14 quarts; that is not a measured usable-volume or load promise.
Explore this need in the finder →Does an overall maximum that is only a two-minute boost meet your high-temperature need?
The guide says HI-FRY reaches 450°F for two minutes near the end of eligible cycles; normal mode settings top at 400°F. A 455°F requirement is not met.
Explore this need in the finder →The Chefman RJ38-RDO-13P is the larger door-front oven sibling to the brand’s basket fryers. Chefman’s current U.S. page and its May 2026 guide call it a 14-quart Multifunctional Air Fryer+ Oven, while the page address still says “13-quart” and the model number ends in “13P.” The exact code is therefore important when comparing older listings: the current page and matching guide identify this product as the 14-quart version, but the capacity remains a manufacturer label, not a measured usable-volume or servings guarantee.
One oven cavity, three levels—not three cooking zones
The guide depicts one front-opening cavity with three wire racks, a drip tray/baking pan and rotisserie hardware. All three rack positions use the same selected function, temperature and timer. That gives you more ways to spread a batch or to use the oven format for different foods, but it does not let you independently set the upper and lower racks. Chefman cautions against crowding because packed racks restrict airflow and recommends switching rack positions partway through when cooking on multiple levels. The manual’s example chart also contains generic “baskets” language, but the exact model’s parts drawing shows racks in one oven cavity, not pull-out baskets or independently controlled drawers.
A door window and oven light let you check food without opening the appliance every time. The guide says opening the door pauses the timer and closing it resumes the countdown. The reminders are not automatic turning: food on racks may still need a manual flip or position change. If your usual meal is one compact basket of frozen food and you prefer shaking a drawer, a basket fryer is simpler. If two foods need different temperatures and synchronized finish, choose an actual dual-zone design rather than relying on the three shelf positions.
Five named modes, with the limits kept separate
The exact U.S. guide names Air Fry, Bake, Broil, Reheat and Dry (Dehydrate). Air Fry and Bake adjust from 200–400°F for 1–60 minutes; Broil uses 350–400°F for 1–30 minutes; Reheat uses 200–400°F for 1–60 minutes; and Dry runs from 90–200°F for 30 minutes to 24 hours. Bake has a built-in preheat phase before its programmed timer begins. Those ranges make the unit useful for ordinary air frying, a small baked dish, broiling, reheating and low-temperature drying, but the controls do not create different temperatures on different rack levels.
The 450°F headline needs context. Chefman’s HI-FRY control is available only near the end of eligible Air Fry, Bake, Broil or Reheat cycles (five minutes or longer) and raises the temperature to 450°F for two minutes. It is a brief finishing boost, not a normal setting held throughout a full recipe. The product page and current guide do not establish the exact appliance’s wattage, supply voltage, overall exterior dimensions, line frequency or food-contact coating composition, so those should not be assumed from another RJ38-RDO sibling.
Rotisserie is an option, not an extra mode
The included spit and forks rotate food in Air Fry or Bake, with a stated maximum load of four pounds. The guide says a tightly trussed chicken around 3–3½ pounds works well when it has room to turn; it also directs you to put the baking pan at the oven floor as a drip tray. You need to fit the spit, food and pan and then remove a hot rotating assembly with the supplied fetch tool and an oven mitt. Rotation is unavailable in Broil, Reheat and Dry, so it cannot be combined with every feature. The manual’s timed rack functions remain one-cavity operations.
There is no integrated food probe listed among the RJ38-RDO-13P’s illustrated controls or included parts. That matters if your reason for choosing this size is hands-off cooking to a target internal temperature. Chefman’s separate RJ38-RDO-PV12 is the probe-equipped sibling; its probe operation has its own mode restrictions, so compare that exact model rather than treating “Multifunctional” as a probe claim. The RJ38-RDO-V12 is another distinct 12-quart model with its own guide. Do not borrow package contents or operating limits across codes.
Space, care and everyday fit
This is a countertop oven rather than a small drawer appliance. Before committing, measure the shelf and the space needed to open the door, lift out racks and handle the spit. The exact guide requires a level, heat-resistant surface at least two inches from walls or nearby objects and ventilation above and on all sides. The exterior and interior housing should be wiped clean rather than immersed or put in a dishwasher. The door can be removed for washing; the guide says the door and accessories are top-rack dishwasher-safe. If you want one quick-wash basket, remember that this package has racks, a pan, a spit and other pieces to clean and store.
Who should shortlist the RJ38-RDO-13P?
It suits a cook who wants an oven cavity, three rack heights, a dedicated Dehydrate range down to 90°F, a named Reheat or Broil mode, and the option of a small rotisserie load—and who is comfortable tending food across shared racks. It is not the pick for two independent zones, an integrated probe, a regular full-cycle 450°F setting, or a confidently verified PFAS-free surface claim. Its 14-quart label is larger than the 12-quart figures on the PV12 and V12, but choose on the actual layout and controls rather than that number alone. For a probe, compare the PV12; for a second independent cooking zone, compare a true dual-basket fryer. No independent performance testing or ownership experience is claimed here; this assessment follows the current exact-model page and guide.
