Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is a single physical basket and one active cooking zone enough?
The exact Iconic package has one 6.5-quart pull-out basket and cannot cook two foods with independent settings simultaneously.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you require an explicitly stated stainless-steel basket body beneath its coating?
COSORI identifies the Iconic basket body as 304 stainless steel and the nonstick surface as ceramic-coated.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the manufacturer explicitly state that food-contact surfaces are PFAS-free?
The exact CAF-SE601S-CUS product page describes the coated food-contact surfaces as PFAS-free; this is a manufacturer statement, not independent chemical testing.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you value remote progress/settings changes but can start the cook at the fryer?
VeSync permits remote monitoring and setting changes; the manual says a local press is still required to start cooking.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a low-temperature Proof or Dry program important?
The exact manual lists Proof at 90–110°F and Dehydrate at 100–200°F; these are different operating modes with different time ranges.
Explore this need in the finder →The COSORI Iconic CAF-SE601S-CUS is a single-basket, 6.5-quart smart air fryer built around a stainless-steel basket and exterior, a ceramic nonstick coating, six cooking functions and VeSync app control. Its distinguishing case is more specific than “smart” or “stainless”: the manufacturer describes the basket as 304 stainless steel and its appliance structure as 430 stainless steel, while the exact manual gives separate ranges for Proof, Dehydrate, Air Fry, Roast, Bake and Reheat. The app can monitor an active cook and change settings, but a person still has to start cooking at the appliance.
One basket, but a broader low-temperature range
The nominal 6.5-quart basket is one cooking zone, not a pair of independently controlled drawers. It suits a household that wants to cook one batch at a time and use a low-temperature Proof or Dry setting as well as higher-heat air frying. The capacity figure does not tell you how much food fits in a single layer; COSORI warns that overfilling can cook food unevenly. If a meal needs two foods at different temperatures at once, a dual-zone model such as the TWINFRY or Dual Basket is a better starting point, with different drawer arrangements and manual limits to consider.
The manual’s mode chart is more useful than the overall 90–450°F product range. Proof runs from 90–110°F for 15 minutes to 12 hours, while Dehydrate runs from 100–200°F for 15 minutes to 24 hours. Air Fry is 195–450°F, Roast 350–450°F, Bake 260–400°F and Reheat 300–425°F; each of those four is limited to 1–60 minutes. The six functions have different programmed fan speeds. Do not assume the fryer reaches every listed temperature in every mode, or that its 24-hour maximum applies outside Dry. The manual says not to leave it unattended while in use, so a long drying range is not a promise to run it without supervision.
Connected, not remotely started
Through VeSync, the Iconic can show cooking progress, accept remote setting changes, load recipe settings and work with supported voice assistants. Setup requires a compatible phone, Wi-Fi or mobile data, and a VeSync account. The appliance’s local panel remains important: the manual specifically says the app cannot start the cooking process. If you want to put food in the basket and initiate a cycle later from your phone, this model does not meet that requirement. If you want to check progress or adjust a running cook from another room but can start it locally, the app may be useful. The Shake Reminder is narrower than the app headline suggests: the exact manual says it works only with Air Fry.
Stainless steel and ceramic need different care
COSORI identifies the basket body as 304 stainless steel and the outer structure as 430 stainless steel; the basket and crisper plate also have a nonstick ceramic coating. The product page says the food-contact surfaces are PFAS-free. That is a manufacturer materials disclosure, not an independent chemical test or a guarantee about cooking results. The product page also displays a California Proposition 65 warning that names lead; it provides no product-specific concentration or exposure measurement. Those are separate disclosures rather than a single pass/fail safety score.
The basket and crisper plate are dishwasher-safe, but the manual recommends gentle handwashing to help prolong the ceramic coating. Avoid metal utensils and abrasive cleaners. For the stainless exterior, COSORI recommends wiping with a microfiber or stainless-steel cloth and following the grain; it cautions against steel wool, bleach, abrasive sponges and commercial oven cleaner. The top control panel is glass, but it is not a lid—do not try to open it or store items on it. Leave at least five inches above and behind the unit, plus enough room to pull the basket out in front. The listed 14.8 × 11.8 × 11.6-inch dimensions are length by width by height including the handle; without the handle, the first listed dimension is 11.8 inches.
Warranty and who should compare it
The exact manual describes a five-year limited warranty for the base unit and a separate one-year limited warranty for the basket, crisper plate and silicone feet. The warranty is limited to the original purchaser, region of purchase and its stated conditions, so read the current terms and keep proof of purchase. This distinction matters more than treating “five years” as blanket coverage for every part.
Consider the Iconic if one basket is enough, you value an explicitly described stainless-steel basket body and PFAS-free coated surfaces, and you will use Proof, Dry or app-based monitoring and setting changes. Compare it with the panel-only TurboBlaze CAF-DC601-KUS if connected controls and a stainless basket are not priorities; the KUS offers a simpler one-basket routine. The TurboBlaze Smart WUSR also supports app progress and setting changes but has unresolved capacity and dimension conflicts in its current sources. Choose a two-zone layout instead if simultaneous foods are essential. Skip the Iconic if remote start is a must or if you need the Dry function to go below its documented 100°F minimum. Check the box and listing for CAF-SE601S-CUS; other COSORI air fryers may share an app or coating claim without sharing this basket material, capacity or warranty.
