Fits shoppers who want a single 14-quart oven cavity, rotisserie, dehydration and an integrated probe for supported presets; probe and Dehydrate are separate plans.

The main tradeoff

Probe mode excludes Dehydrate, Fries and Bacon; the baskets share one schedule. Current page/manual wattage claims conflict, and the manufacturer page showed Sold Out at capture.

The GAF1290 is an oven-format air fryer for shoppers who want a rotisserie and dehydration in the same countertop appliance, plus an integrated probe for supported protein presets. The probe adds a real operating difference over the GAF1220, but it does not turn this single cavity into a dual-zone fryer.

Exact model and included equipment

Gourmia’s U.S. listing exposes the exact SKU GAF1290 and describes a nominal 14-quart air fryer, oven, rotisserie and dehydrator. The listed package includes two air-fry baskets, a rotisserie spit and lift tool, and a drip tray. Gourmia advertises 28 cooking presets, one-touch protein presets, an integrated temperature probe, a viewing window, interior light, guided prompts, optional preheat and a turn reminder. Its U.S. product page showed “Sold Out” on October 25, 2026. That status is a snapshot, not a prediction or a statement about every authorized retailer.

The exact model guide describes two styles of use: ordinary time-and-temperature cooking and probe cooking. During supported probe cooking, the display shows live internal temperature and the machine beeps and ends the cycle at its target. The manual specifically says Dehydrate, Fries and Bacon are disabled while the probe is connected. That is an important limit: an integrated probe is useful only where a particular mode supports it. The manual also says not to use the probe for frozen proteins or cuts one inch thick or thinner, and gives placement guidance to insert it horizontally into the thickest part without touching bone, fat or gristle. It tells cooks to allow food to rest after removal and separately reminds users to ensure raw proteins reach a food-safe temperature.

What the probe changes in practice

If you often cook thick proteins and want a cook cycle to watch an internal target rather than rely only on a timer, the GAF1290 deserves more attention than a plain preset-count comparison suggests. A typical workflow is to select a supported protein preset, use the probe as the guide directs, and check that the sensor is placed correctly. The device can report when its chosen target is reached; it cannot fix a misplaced probe, make a thin or frozen cut suitable for probe mode, or substitute for sensible food-safety checks. The manufacturer’s listed probe targets and doneness choices are settings, not independent lab verification of finished food.

The 28 presets are a convenience layer, not 28 separate cooking chambers or automatic recipes that guarantee a result. Gourmia’s controls still let you set time and temperature, and its guide says cooking varies with food type, amount and thickness. For Fries, Bacon and dehydration, use the timed mode rather than expecting the probe to run alongside those functions. That separation also matters to questionnaire matching: “I need a probe” and “I need to dehydrate” can each be met by this product, but the sources do not document them working simultaneously in one cycle.

Oven capacity, rotisserie and everyday tradeoffs

The GAF1290 is a door-front oven cavity with a window and internal light, not a pull-out basket fryer. Although two air-fry baskets are included, the appliance has one cavity and one cooking program. They do not have separate temperature and time controls, so a request for synchronized independent zones should exclude it. A nominal 14-quart rating describes the model’s stated size category, not a measured usable-food volume or serving count. Gourmia also includes a rotisserie spit and lift tool, and its instructions describe fitting the spit and using the Rotate control. That is a separate reason to shortlist the model if rotating poultry or roasts is part of your routine.

Several care details are concrete: Gourmia’s exact guide identifies the spit, forks, lift tool, baskets and drip tray as top-rack dishwasher-safe; it says to wipe the probe with a damp cloth rather than treating it as another dishwasher accessory. Use the drip tray at the bottom during cooking and use proper hand protection around hot metal, steam and the spit. The page does not establish exterior dimensions or the full clearance requirement for this 2025 revision in the sources I could retrieve, so countertop fit remains something to verify from the appliance label/manual before purchase.

A specification conflict worth checking

There is a genuine source discrepancy around power. The current Gourmia store listing says “New, 1,750 W,” while text from the model-numbered 2025 user manual states 120 V, 60 Hz and 1,700 W. An earlier GAF1290 manual also gives 1,700 W. Because the current product page and 2025 manual conflict, I do not treat either wattage as a settled specification in the comparison facts. If the electrical rating is essential to your kitchen setup, confirm the label on the exact unit or ask Gourmia before buying. The 2025 manual does identify the polarized household plug and 120-V/60-Hz supply.

Who this version suits

Choose the GAF1290 over the GAF1220 when the integrated probe and newer 28-preset interface are worthwhile to you; choose the GAF1220 as a reference comparison if twelve functions, rotisserie and dehydration are enough and you do not need a probe. Neither is the right answer for a compact drawer footprint, two independent cook zones, a transparent cooking vessel, remote app adjustment or a manufacturer-documented PFAS-free surface—the available exact sources do not support those requirements. The current GAF1290 page is sold out, so a match should prompt an exact-model stock check, not suggest that this unit is currently available.

The manual PDF could not be saved locally because Gourmia’s PDF host returned an access-denied HTML page; its model-specific text was inspected through the indexed manufacturer document.
