PowerXL Air Fryer Oven GLA-1001 review

Earlier U.S. digital countertop oven with a model-labelled 120 V/60 Hz, 1,700 W manual and Reheat, Pizza and Dehydrator presets. The indexed row says 12QT, while the manual’s own title/header says 10 Quart and specification table says 12 qt (693 cu in.); capacity remains unknown for hard filtering.

A useful fit for

A reference for someone who wants a door-front oven cavity, digital touch controls, a manual-described Fry Basket accessory and several named food presets, including Reheat, Pizza and Dehydrator. Its size must be checked against the exact unit because the manual conflicts on quart capacity.

The main tradeoff

This is not a separate drawer fryer or dual-zone appliance. The 10-versus-12-quart capacity conflict cannot pass a minimum-quart requirement. Accessory quantities may vary; current availability, exact package, exterior dimensions, coating and present warranty remain unknown.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Would an oven-style single cavity and digital controls work even when quart capacity is not known?

The exact GLA-1001 manual supports an oven-form LED-touch configuration, but capacity is held unknown because the title and specification table conflict.

Is the manual-listed Dehydrator program useful if 90°F is sufficient?

The control table lists Dehydrator at 90–170°F and a separate 2–24-hour timer; other cooking modes start at 150°F.

Do you need a confirmed 10-quart minimum, or can size remain an open question?

The exact model manual uses both “10 Quart” and “12 qt” in different places, so this record cannot satisfy any minimum quart requirement.

The PowerXL GLA-1001 Air Fryer Oven is an earlier door-front countertop oven with a digital touch screen and a broad set of food presets. The indexed manual and its own table identify GLA-1001, 120 V/60 Hz and 1,700 W. Its capacity is a genuine source conflict: the manufacturer-linked directory labels the product 12QT and the manual’s specification table says 12 qt (693 cu in.), but the same manual is titled “10 Quart PowerXL Air Fryer Oven.” I would not use either capacity as a hard filter until the physical label and seller documentation for a particular unit resolve that discrepancy.

An oven cavity with removable cooking accessories

This is not a conventional drawer fryer. The manual describes a single oven chamber with a glass door, crisper trays, a drip tray and accessories including a Fry Basket. You place an accessory into the oven, close the door and remove it after opening the door; there is no separately controlled second chamber. The guide cautions that accessory quantities may vary and some pieces may be sold separately. Check a seller’s exact bundle rather than assuming the Fry Basket, rotisserie shaft, fetching tool, skewer set or other illustrated parts are included.

There is a useful distinction between “basket accessory” and “basket layout.” A user who wants oven shelves and door access may still use the Fry Basket described in the guide, but the appliance itself remains an oven-form product rather than a pull-out drawer unit. The internal light and glass door let you check food; opening the door pauses cooking. The manual says to leave at least five inches from nearby objects and keep its air vents clear. If your counter space is tight, the examined manual does not give exterior dimensions, so measure the specific unit instead of estimating from its illustration.

The preset list is broader than the simpler CM-001

Its exact manual lists Reheat, French Fry, Steaks/Chops, Fish, Shrimp, Pizza, Chicken, Baking, Rotisserie and Dehydrator presets. The defaults are adjustable, so treat the manual’s numbers as starting guidance rather than fixed results: French Fry defaults to 400°F for 18 minutes; Pizza to 360°F for 15 minutes; Reheat to 240°F for 12 minutes; and Dehydrator to 120°F for two hours. The ordinary cooking timer runs from one to 90 minutes. Dehydrating is distinct, at two to 24 hours in 30-minute increments and 90–170°F. The other settings can be adjusted from 150–400°F.

That Dehydrator range is the model’s documented low-temperature use; it does not mean the ordinary cooking presets run at 90°F. Temperature changes are in 5°F steps. The panel has a light control and opening the door pauses a cycle. The manual’s halfway-turn advice is a user routine, not an automatic shake reminder. It also instructs users to add three minutes when starting from cold; there is no separate preheat preset listed. Unlike the nearby PowerXL CM-001 reference, the GLA-1001 manual names both Reheat and Pizza presets. That difference matters only if the exact labeled model really is the unit on offer.

Cleaning and capacity caveats change the recommendation

The manual calls its cooking accessories durable stainless steel and dishwasher-safe, while also recommending hand washing after use; it separately says not to wash or immerse the appliance or door. Treat that as a care choice, and confirm which accessories are supplied with the exact package. The guide also warns against pouring oil into the unit and advises cooling it before cleaning. It describes the appliance as intended for household use, not commercial use.

The nominal quart field stays unknown in this review because the manual’s 10-quart title conflicts with the 12-quart / 693-cubic-inch table and the index’s 12QT label. Do not let a questionnaire’s minimum-capacity answer pass based on only one of those statements. Likewise, no measured cooking performance, current seller availability, current replacement-parts supply, coating chemistry, exact-package list or present transferable warranty is established here. The manual contains an old guarantee section, which is not treated as current coverage.

Who should look elsewhere

Consider this model only if a one-cavity oven with digital presets, a door and optional cooking accessories fits better than a drawer. Skip it if you need two independently timed zones, temperatures over 400°F, confirmed capacity of at least a specific number of quarts, or a guaranteed bundle of rotisserie or basket pieces. If a maker-confirmed single drawer and a reliable capacity figure matter more, compare the separate earlier PowerXL GLA-502S basket review; it is a different model and should not be confused with GLA-1001. For a capacity-critical purchase, prefer a configuration whose exact manual and offer state the same nominal size.
