PowerXL Grill Air Fryer Combo 12-in-1 (6 qt.) review

Earlier U.S. 6-quart pot-and-lid configurations documented together in the exact-family manual. MFC-AF-6 and MFC-AF-6C share the listed 1550 W, 120 V/60 Hz supply, controls and modes; the manual shows a silver-style exterior for the AF-6 and a dark exterior for the AF-6C but does not explain the suffix. Current offer and package contents are unverified.

A useful fit for

A documented 6-quart single-pot arrangement for shoppers who want the same 12 named cooking presets in a pot-and-lid form and can accept one cooking area. The MFC-AF-6 and MFC-AF-6C differ in the exterior shown in the manual, not in a published function or capacity.

The main tradeoff

This is not a pull-out basket, two-zone fryer or clear glass cooking vessel. It requires a dedicated grounded 120-V/60-Hz outlet, has no verified exterior dimensions, and the seller package varies. The exact dehydration high-end/timer interval conflicts between manual sections; no coating chemistry, PFAS-free claim, current stock or transferable warranty was established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Would a single 6-quart inner pot with a top-mounted air-frying lid suit you better than a pull-out basket?

The exact-family manual lists MFC-AF-6 and MFC-AF-6C as 6-quart pot-and-lid configurations, with no pull-out basket.

Is a six-quart full-capacity pot sufficient, rather than an eight-quart vessel?

The exact manual lists six quarts full capacity for each code; that is not a measured food yield or serving count.

Explore this need in the finder →
Do you want documented steam cooking in a shared pot, without a combined steam-and-air-fry mode?

The manual names a Steam preset that uses the Glass Lid and separately identifies Air Frying Lid modes. It does not document a combined steam-and-air-fry setting.

Do you need a dishwasher-safe pull-out basket?

There is no pull-out basket in this configuration; the manual instead confirms dishwasher-safe care for the Inner Pot and Glass Lid.

PowerXL Grill Air Fryer Combo 12-in-1 MFC-AF-6 / MFC-AF-6C review

The PowerXL MFC-AF-6 and MFC-AF-6C are two 6-quart versions of the Grill Air Fryer Combo 12-in-1. The model-labelled manual groups them in one specification table: each is listed at 1550 watts, 120 volts/60 Hz, with a 100–500°F display range and LED controls. The manual’s page-nine comparison shows the AF-6 with a silver, stainless-style band and the AF-6C in a dark finish. It does not explain what the “C” means, so treat these as two visually different model codes, not evidence of a different cooking system.

A pot-and-lid cooker, not a drawer fryer

Both codes use one inner pot and an air-frying lid that attaches above it. There is no pull-out basket, removable basket divider or second independently set cooking zone. That changes the everyday routine: you lift the lid to get to food in the pot instead of sliding a drawer out to shake it. The manual also supplies a glass lid for the non-air-fry modes, so this is a multi-use pot appliance with alternate lids—not simply a basket fryer with extra presets. Someone who wants to toss a shallow layer of fries in a drawer may find a conventional basket more direct. If a single vessel and several distinct cooking methods matter more, the PowerXL’s layout is the actual point of difference.

Twelve presets share two lid arrangements

The manual lists Air Fry, Slow Cook, Steam, Sauté, Grill, Bake, Roast, Rice, Simmer, Sous Vide, Fry and Keep Warm. The air-frying lid is used for Air Fry, Grill, Bake and Roast; the glass lid is used for the other listed modes. It is not a single “12 ways to air fry” claim: several settings are conventional pot cooking, and the manual warns not to use the air-frying lid for its Fry preset. That Fry mode uses oil and is limited to a one-inch depth; the guide specifically says it is not for deep frying.

There is a small but important distinction in the low-temperature feature. The owner manual describes dehydration under the Air Fry preset rather than as one of the twelve named presets. Its mode explanation says 100–210°F and one to ten hours, while its chart gives a different upper endpoint and includes one-minute increments for the longer setting. Because those two pages do not agree exactly, do not buy it on a precise dehydration-endpoint or timer requirement without checking the model’s latest support information. The broader specification table’s 100–500°F is the display range, not a promise that every mode uses that entire span. Grill reaches the listed 500°F maximum; other presets have their own limits and timing behavior.

What the 6-quart figure does—and does not—tell you

Six quarts is the manual’s full inner-pot capacity, not a tested food yield or a guaranteed serving count. The guide does not provide exterior dimensions, usable fill volume or a counter-clearance figure. It also says package contents vary by model. Although the parts section names a Grill Plate and the Grill preset depends on it, the surviving documentation does not map that piece to each exact retail package; confirm it is present before relying on grilling. Bake likewise calls for a pan that fits the inner pot but does not establish that a pan comes with every package.

Setup, controls and cleanup

The digital interface uses a control knob and Start, Timer, Temperature, Delay Timer, Cancel and Keep Warm buttons. You select a named preset and can alter its time or temperature; the display shows the setting, while the Rice timer behaves differently because cooking time varies with the amount prepared. The manual calls for a grounded, dedicated 120-volt outlet with no other appliance on the same outlet, a meaningful practical check for a 1550-watt countertop cooker. It does not document an app, remote start, food probe, automatic shake reminder or synchronized finish.

The inner pot and glass lid are the only pieces the manual identifies as dishwasher-safe, and it still recommends hand-washing them to preserve appearance. It does not identify the nonstick coating chemistry or make a PFAS-free statement. The metal-looking exterior in the manual illustration is not proof of the food-contact material. The lid and pot become hot; the guide says to cool the appliance before handling and not immerse its base.

Who should compare these two versions?

The MFC-AF-6/AF-6C pair suits someone seeking a documented 6-quart, single-pot cooker with both air-fry-lid modes and glass-lid cooking—not someone requiring two baskets, a clear cooking vessel or an oven cavity. Choose between the codes for their pictured exterior appearance, not for a documented performance difference. The separate MFC-AF-8 raises full capacity to eight quarts; that is a more meaningful model distinction if the pot size is your deciding filter. The older PowerXL AFG-5A is another pot-and-lid comparison, but its manual lists a smaller 5.5-quart pot and six named presets rather than this family’s twelve.

This is an earlier-model reference based on a 2021-era manual; a later upload date for the manual-index mirror is not a product launch date. The current PowerXL air-fryer collection capture did not list these codes, which is not proof of discontinued status or a seller stock check. No exact current retail offer, seller package, transferable warranty or recall status was established. Search by the complete MFC-AF-6 or MFC-AF-6C code and verify the label, accessories, condition and return terms; do not assume a search result is a current authorized package.
