Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would one 8-quart inner pot with a top-mounted air-frying lid suit you better than a drawer basket or door-front oven?
The exact-family manual labels MFC-AF-8 as an 8-quart pot-and-lid model with one cooking area and no pull-out basket.

The specification table lists eight quarts full capacity for MFC-AF-8. It does not establish a food yield or serving count.

MFC-AF-8 has one Inner Pot and one documented cooking area; it does not offer independently set baskets or synchronized finish.

The manual supports separate Steam and Air Fry modes using different lids, not a combined Steam-and-Air-Fry mode.

The PowerXL MFC-AF-8 is the eight-quart version of the Grill Air Fryer Combo 12-in-1. Its model-specific family manual lists an 8-quart full-capacity inner pot, 1550 watts, a 120-volt/60-Hz supply, an LED panel and a 100–500°F display range. The manual shows the MFC-AF-8 alongside two six-quart siblings, MFC-AF-6 and MFC-AF-6C, in the same model comparison. The larger listed pot—not an extra cooking zone or a different control system—is the documented reason to choose this code over the six-quart versions.

Eight quarts still means one shared pot
This model is not an eight-quart pull-out air-fryer basket. The food goes into an inner pot and an air-frying lid sits on top of the base. A glass lid is used for the slower, wetter and stovetop-style presets. In practice, you lift the air-frying lid to check or turn food; there is no removable drawer, basket window, divider or second independently controlled zone. A larger nominal vessel is useful only if its shape and actual load work for the meals you prepare. The manual does not give a usable-fill line, food yield or serving count, so the eight-quart specification should not be translated into a precise number of people fed.
One appliance, twelve named modes
The manual names Air Fry, Slow Cook, Steam, Sauté, Grill, Bake, Roast, Rice, Simmer, Sous Vide, Fry and Keep Warm. It assigns Air Fry, Grill, Bake and Roast to the air-frying lid; the other listed modes use the glass lid. The interface selects presets with a control knob and Start button, then lets you adjust time and temperature. Rice is an exception: the manual says its timer does not count down in the usual way because the cooking duration changes with the quantity of rice. Many modes shift to Keep Warm after cooking, but that convenience does not turn one pot into independent cooking zones.
Air Fry is the conventional hot-air use; Grill calls for a Grill Plate, while Bake calls for a pan that fits inside the pot. The manual says to preheat the plate for grilling and warns that parts in the package vary by model. It does not confirm which accessory bundle a specific MFC-AF-8 retail offer contains. If the grill plate or baking pan is essential, check the exact seller package instead of inferring inclusion from the function list. The Fry preset is also not a deep fryer: the manual limits oil depth to one inch and says not to use the air-frying lid for that setting.
Temperature range with mode-specific limits
The technical table’s broad 100–500°F range does not apply to every preset. The chart gives Air Fry a 215–500°F range, while the manual describes dehydration as a lower-temperature use under the Air Fry preset, not a thirteenth named preset. There is an internal discrepancy: the preset explanation states 100–210°F for dehydration and one-to-ten-hour timing, while the cooking chart prints a slightly different top temperature and allows minute-level settings. If a particular dehydration ceiling or minimum timer is essential, that conflict needs manufacturer confirmation; do not treat the display range as the range of every cooking mode. The manual does document grill operation up to 500°F, but it does not provide independent cooking tests or guarantee a particular browning result.
Measure the space and check the circuit
The MFC-AF-8’s 1550-watt rating is the same as the six-quart models in its family manual. The guide requires a grounded, dedicated 120-volt outlet and says not to share it with another appliance; check the kitchen circuit and outlet before planning to use it. There are no exterior dimensions or lid-clearance measurements in the inspected specification table. Because the appliance uses a top-mounted lid and a large pot, measure the counter location and the space needed to raise the lid, rather than assuming that an eight-quart label predicts footprint or clearance.
Cleaning and material limits
The manual identifies only the inner pot and glass lid as dishwasher-safe, while recommending hand-washing to help preserve appearance. It says to cool the cookware before washing, wipe the appliance base with a damp cloth and never immerse the base. The guide mentions a coated cooking surface but does not specify its chemical composition or state that it is PFAS-free. The glass lid is a cover; the appliance’s food vessel is the inner pot, not a transparent glass cooking bowl. No app, remote setting change, built-in food probe, synchronized-finish function or shake alert is documented.
When the larger code makes sense
Compare the MFC-AF-8 if you want a documented eight-quart pot with an air-fry lid and the broader cooking modes of a multi-use cooker, and you can accommodate its lid-up access and dedicated outlet. It is a poor fit if your essential need is a large shallow basket, two foods cooked on separate schedules, a transparent vessel or a door-front oven with several rack levels. For a lower full-capacity threshold or a smaller-looking manual depiction, the six-quart MFC-AF-6 and dark-finish MFC-AF-6C are separate exact model codes with the same listed wattage, supply and twelve presets. The shared manual does not document a cooking-performance advantage for either size.
This is an earlier U.S. model reference: the exact manual’s imprint is from 2021, and the archived current PowerXL air-fryer collection did not list MFC-AF-8. That absence does not establish that the model is discontinued or unavailable from every seller. No exact current retail bundle, warranty transfer or recall disposition was established. If you are comparing an existing offer, look for the full MFC-AF-8 label and verify the pot, lids and included accessories before paying; the review describes the documented configuration rather than the condition of any particular unit.
