Choosing a layout
One wide basket, two zones, or two drawers?
A divider can do more than keep two foods apart. On some air fryers, it creates separately controlled zones; on others it is only a physical partition. A useful comparison begins with the exact operating layout: one large basket, one basket divided into two independent zones, or two separate drawers.
DZ071: one wide basket that changes size
The Ninja Foodi FlexBasket DZ071 has a single 7-quart pull-out basket. With the removable divider inserted, it is split into two 3.5-quart independently controlled zones. Smart Finish coordinates different programs to end together, and Match Cook copies settings between zones. Remove the divider and the basket becomes one 7-quart MegaZone for a larger continuous area. The two arrangements are alternatives, not concurrent modes. The handle still pulls one wide basket out as a unit.
Choose this format if the same appliance needs to handle both a main-and-side meal and an occasional larger single-zone item. It is less suited to someone who needs two independently removable drawers. Check the counter width, hot-basket landing area and ventilation clearance: the exact product page lists a 20.24-inch length, and the guide asks for 6 inches of clearance on all sides and above.
COSORI TWINFRY: a similar idea with more listed volume
The COSORI TWINFRY CAF-TF901-KUS follows a related single-wide-basket approach, with a 9-quart total and two 4.5-quart divider-in zones or one divider-out GrandZone. Its larger nominal capacity may fit a higher listed-volume requirement, but the two-zone option is still one wide drawer—not two removable baskets. Its owner manual also contains a long-timer conflict: a 48-hour chart entry appears alongside a warning not to exceed 60 minutes of operation in a two-hour period. Treat that conflict as unresolved before planning extended drying cycles.
DoubleStack SL201: two baskets, vertically arranged
The Ninja DoubleStack SL201 takes a different route to its 8-quart combined capacity: two separate 4-quart baskets stacked in one appliance. Each basket has its own program. Its removable racks provide an additional food level inside a drawer, but food on the rack shares that drawer's settings; they do not create four independently controlled zones. The vertical format changes the counter footprint and height, while separate baskets change how you load and unload a meal.
Which constraint changes the choice?
If you need one continuous basket area, select a divider-out plan and compare its actual nominal capacity with your requirement. If you need two foods at different temperatures but can accept one basket coming out as a whole, a dual-zone divider plan may be enough. If one basket must be carried away while the other cooks, require two separate drawers and do not count a divider as a second basket. Finally, compare exact manuals for timer, care and electrical detail; capacity and marketing mode counts do not answer those ownership questions.
