Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would you rather use a front-door oven cavity with trays than pull out a basket?
The CAF-R121-SUS is a countertop oven with a door and four tray positions; it has no pull-out food basket.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you want Proof or low-temperature Dehydrate in a one-zone appliance?
Both are manual-listed modes in one cavity; Proof starts at 90°F and Dehydrate at 100°F. Their low temperatures do not create a second zone.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the approximate 13-quart nominal size within your required minimum?
It passes a 12-quart minimum on the manufacturer's nominal figure, but should not be treated as an independent usable-volume or portion test.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you need independent cooking settings on two zones at once?
This one-cavity oven runs one program at a time; placing food on multiple levels does not provide separate zone settings.
Explore this need in the finder →Is app monitoring or remote setting changes essential?
No appliance app-control routine is documented in the exact US manual; its VeSync reference is for recipes and tutorials.
Explore this need in the finder →The COSORI 13-Quart Air Fryer Oven, model CAF-R121-SUS, is a door-front countertop oven rather than a pull-out-drawer fryer. Its 13-quart nominal cavity, four tray positions and included rotisserie hardware make it a different kind of appliance from the COSORI basket models elsewhere in this guide. It still runs one cooking program in one cavity at a time: multiple rack levels do not create independent temperature zones.
Choose an oven layout for trays and rotisserie use
COSORI lists this model at approximately 13 quarts / 12 liters and says it can fit an 8-inch pizza or a four-pound chicken. The manual describes an 8.5-inch pizza capacity, while the current product page says 8 inches. That small discrepancy is a reminder to check the actual pan or food dimensions instead of treating the nominal quart figure as a measured usable-volume guarantee. The product page also says two slices of bread; neither that example nor the larger food examples substitute for measuring the item you want to cook.
The layout is a compact box with a front door, four rack positions and three ordinary trays: an air-fryer tray, a food tray and a bottom drip tray. The package also lists a rotisserie basket, fork set and handle. A manual diagram numbers the rack positions from top to bottom; the instructions assign different positions and trays by cooking mode. That variety can suit a household that wants to switch among loose small foods, a tray meal, baking or a rotating roast without transferring everything to a separate appliance. The tradeoff is more pieces to place, remove and clean than one drawer and crisper plate.
Understand the mode list before counting presets
The product page advertises 11-in-1 cooking. The model-specific manual's panel and cooking chart name ten programs: Air Fry, Roast, Broil, Bake, Pizza, Toast, Reheat, Warm, Dehydrate and Proof. It also provides a rotisserie-rotation control for Air Fry or Roast; that is a useful accessory capability, not a second independently controlled oven zone. The manual programs fan speed by function rather than letting you select it freely. High fan is assigned to Air Fry, Roast and Broil; lower fan operation is used by the other listed programs.
Four modes automatically preheat: Air Fry, Roast, Bake and Pizza. You can skip that stage, and the manual describes an “Add Food” prompt when preheating ends. The mode-specific ranges matter more than the overall 90–450°F specification: Air Fry and Roast start at 180°F, Broil at 350°F, Reheat at 120°F, Warm at 150°F, Dry at 100°F and Proof at 90°F. Toast uses automatic timing and a seven-level browning setting. Dry and Proof extend to 12 hours, while several high-heat modes top out at one hour and Broil at 30 minutes. These are the manufacturer's control ranges, not food-tested recommendations. If you want Proof or a low-temperature drying option, this oven has a documented plan that many basket models lack; if your recipe needs two temperatures at the same moment, it does not solve that problem.
Plan one cavity, one setting, and a larger counter presence
The manual lists 14.2 × 13.0 × 14.6 inches and 15.4 pounds including accessories, but does not label the dimension order as width, depth and height. Treat the figures as a measurement checklist rather than an axis-specific fit promise. Door swing, tray handling, the power cord and rear/top ventilation all need room on a stable heat-resistant counter. The manual does not give a numeric clearance in the pages reviewed, but it does say not to block vents or place the unit near flammable materials, and warns that the exterior and door become hot. Its 120V, 60Hz supply and 1,800W rating also make the outlet and counter location worth checking before purchase.
Opening the door pauses cooking automatically and turns on the interior light; closing it resumes the program. This is convenient for checking or turning food, but the manual still calls for heat-resistant gloves when handling hot trays and warns about steam at the openings. The drip tray must stay in place during cooking to catch grease and crumbs; it is not a cooking surface. For greasy foods, the manual gives a tray arrangement intended to keep drippings away from the heating elements. Those instructions add some setup steps that a pull-out basket routine does not have.
Cleaning and material limits are part of the choice
The manual calls for cleaning the accessories and oven interior after use, wiping with a soft damp cloth or non-abrasive cleaner, and cleaning the upper interior so residue does not burn on later. It specifically warns against metal scouring pads, abrasive cleaners and metal utensils that could scratch surfaces. The product page describes a stainless-steel exterior and nonstick trays, but the sources do not establish the food-contact coating chemistry or an exact-model PFAS-free statement. A stainless exterior is not the same thing as stainless cooking trays, so a material disclosure should be treated as unknown if it is essential to you.
Compare the cavity with the basket alternatives
Choose CAF-R121-SUS if an oven cavity, four tray positions, Proof/Dry modes or rotisserie accessories are central to your routine and you can accommodate its countertop form. If you want a familiar basket, the 5-quart Pro LE keeps a straightforward one-drawer workflow, while the 6-quart TurboBlaze KUS is a larger basket with five programmed fan-speed levels. When two distinct settings must run together, compare the TWINFRY or two-basket CAF-R901-AUS instead; this oven's shelves are not dual zones. Verify the exact CAF-R121-SUS model code with the seller and measure your own cookware before buying. This assessment is based on the manufacturer page and manual, not independent cooking, noise or energy testing.
