A useful fit for

A household that wants a single large basket with a manufacturer-described upper-and-lower heating arrangement, adjustable food-specific presets and app-based progress/settings control, but accepts one zone and local cooking start.

The main tradeoff

Dual heating does not provide two independent food zones. The appliance range tops out at 400°F, begins at 175°F, offers no documented Proof or Dehydrate function, and the manual’s official COSORI download link resolves to a recipe booklet rather than the instruction manual. Coating chemistry and a PFAS-free claim are not documented for this exact model.

Your needs, this model

The COSORI Dual Blaze CAF-P583S-KUS is a 6.8-quart, app-connected air fryer with one physical basket and one cooking zone. Its unusual feature is not a second chamber: the manufacturer describes heating elements above and below the food, with automatic temperature control. COSORI says that setup can cook both sides without shaking, but that is a manufacturer claim, not a cooking test here. The manual still warns that an overfilled basket can cook unevenly, and its Broil mode uses only the upper element.

Two heating elements do not create two zones

The square basket and crisper plate make one cooking area. You can use the 6.8-quart nominal capacity for a single batch, or remove the basket to check food, but you cannot run separate temperatures for two foods at once. The bottom element is a real design difference from a conventional single-top-element arrangement; it does not provide separate timing or control beneath one side of the drawer. If your meal regularly needs a protein and a side cooked at different settings simultaneously, compare the COSORI TWINFRY or Dual Basket instead. TWINFRY has two divider-created zones in one wide drawer; the Dual Basket uses two removable baskets.

The capacity and serving count are manufacturer figures, not measurements of how much food fits in a single layer. Crowding remains relevant: the manual cautions that an overfilled basket cooks unevenly. The strongest reason to consider Dual Blaze is therefore the heating arrangement and its local-plus-app control, not an assumption that a large nominal basket eliminates batch planning.

Twelve presets, one shared adjustment range

The panel lists Chicken, Steak, Seafood, Veggies, Fries, Frozen, Air Fry, Reheat, Roast, Keep Warm, Bake and Broil. They are food-oriented starting points, not twelve separate heating chambers. The manual lets you adjust each function within the appliance's 175–400°F and 1–60-minute ranges. Preset starting values are Chicken 390°F/20 minutes, Steak 400°F/8, Seafood 375°F/8, Veggies 385°F/6, Fries 385°F/20, Frozen 395°F/12, Air Fry 360°F/10, Reheat 350°F/5, Roast 400°F/10, Keep Warm 175°F/30, Bake 320°F/20 and Broil 400°F/10. These are starting settings from the instructions, not guaranteed results for every portion or recipe.

Broil is the notable exception to the two-sided heating pitch: COSORI says this function uses the top element only. There is no separate Proof or Dehydrate function, and the manual does not list a distinct Preheat mode. If you need an appliance setting below 175°F, an upper limit above 400°F, or a proofing or drying program, the Iconic and TurboBlaze models in this library have different documented ranges and functions.

Smart control still needs a local start

VeSync can show cooking progress, load the manufacturer's recipe settings, save custom recipes and connect to supported Alexa or Google Assistant voice controls. The manual explicitly excludes remote cooking start: someone must press Start at the fryer. That makes the app useful for checking or adjusting an active cook, not for putting food in a cold appliance and starting it later from another room. Setup requires the VeSync app and an account; if you prefer not to connect kitchen equipment, the panel-only TurboBlaze KUS is a simpler comparison.

Measure the counter and treat the coating gently

COSORI lists 120 volts, 60 Hz, 1,750 watts, 13.7 pounds and dimensions of 11.7 × 12.9 × 13.8 inches; the product page does not label the orientation of those three measurements. Leave five inches above and behind the unit, plus room to pull out the basket. The housing top is not a lid or a storage shelf. Its basket and crisper plate are aluminum metal with a nonstick coating. The exact sources do not identify that coating's chemistry or make a PFAS-free claim, so do not transfer the Iconic or TurboBlaze KUS materials statements to this model.

The manual says the basket and plate are dishwasher-safe or can be washed with hot soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid metal utensils and abrasive cleaners that can damage the nonstick surface; keep the heating coil dry and let the fryer cool before cleaning. The manual describes a two-year limited warranty for the appliance, subject to original-purchaser, use and other stated terms. The current product page also carries a California Proposition 65 warning naming lead; neither page gives a model-specific concentration or exposure measurement.

Who should consider the Dual Blaze?

Consider CAF-P583S-KUS if one cooking zone is enough, you value the documented top-and-bottom heating design and food-oriented presets, and remote monitoring or setting changes would help while you remain willing to start the cycle at the appliance. It is a poor fit when two different settings must run at once, remote start is essential, or your plan depends on Proof, Dry or a setting above 400°F. Compare it with the Iconic if a 90°F Proof mode or an explicitly described stainless-steel basket body matters; compare it with TurboBlaze KUS for a panel-only routine and a documented 450°F upper setting. For two foods cooked simultaneously, start with the TWINFRY and Dual Basket assessments rather than treating dual heating as dual-zone cooking.

Use the finder to set your basket, control, and temperature needs, then check that the retailer's box or model label says CAF-P583S-KUS. Related reviews: Iconic, TurboBlaze KUS, and TurboBlaze Smart.
